My editing of my model at the park

Well here all the editing I have done today and it looks so good!. Im really happy about how they turned out. I will be using these photos for the first half of panel one, looks like I am going to be well ahead of the diedline.

I really like the last one, and thing is is that it did not even take very long to do. I pretty much just cut and paste but it did turn out pretty good.

Photo's from the park

Yesterday I took some photos and focused it on Muybridge (one of my artist models). It turned out pretty good and the weather was by my side which really set the scene. I will be editing this photos through out the week.

Planning panel one layout and photo designs

This is what I am hoping panel one is going to look like, It might change later on in the year but this does look pretty good. Excuse my drawings, I am not the drawing people type haha.

My first half of panel one is to be due by the end of the term which is coming up soon so I have a lot of work to do such as editing because thats going to take a really long time. My first photo is going to be one my model showing just her face, the one beside that I will be using Muybridge and using different shots with and black frame. The next one (below the first photo) is going to be the same as that but using just the models face but changing her facial features and the two beside that are going to show the  models body but using different body gestures.

Blurring is going to be very important in most of this photos as well as using Muybridge in this panel.
I am taking photos this week and will be uploaded on Monday.

My planning for the week...

This weekend I am going to start by taking my first real shot. I feel as if my practice photos did not really relate back to my artist models and that's what I need to practice on.

Eadweard Muybridge is what I will be focusing on when taking my photos. I am going to attempt to have my model move in different directions as seen in the image below. This photos will be in colour and the setting will be outside. I am planning on putting a black frame around these photos to make it look more interesting and MuyBridge does use this in his work too. Was thinking about making about four of these photos to full the first half of panel one.

Keith Carter is my favourite artist model that I am using this year. I love the way he blur's out his photos, uses black and white and different tones. I was thinking of having my model just standing there but using her hands to cover her face, this would show what it would be like before violence has happened, a fear of being hit in the face.

Using different camera angles is what I am planning on doing (an example of it above). A have found as awesome setting at the park that is down the road my where I live and the trees there would work in perfectly with my concept, being a fear of being at home.

I still have no idea how I am going to use captions in my work yet, But if I am to use it I would use it in the bottom half of panel one.

Blurring seems to be the way to go

This week I have been focusing on my editing using the photo's I took last week. At first I wanted to used colour but I just couldn't help myself because I love black and white photography so much, so by the looks of things I am going to go back and forward with using colour then to black and white. I have not figured out how to use captions in my work yet, but I will try to add them in somehow later on next week.

Today, I was looking through one of my artist models and noticed that he blurs out some of his photos so before I tried doing that to my photos and they turned out so interesting. I like how to it just focus on the model and a blur background really does set the scene. These two photo's are what I have just edited and I would really like some feedback about what you guys think about how I use this blurring technique and whether I would continue it in my work.

My first shot

I took my first lot of photo's yesterday and it turned out way better then expected. Mu mum did such a good job at being my model and I am glad I picked her. I didn't even have to tell her what to do, I just told her the concept and her knew what to do straight away. So, these shot was based around what it is like before the violence has happened and most of these photo's I will be using for panel one because I thought that look so cool and my class also thought so to which I am pretty happy about. I going to start some editing today and well carry it on later in the week. I will make sure to post them at the end of the week as well as some more planning shots and research.

My concept has also seemed to change from 'Family Violence' to a 'Females perceptive of Domestic Violence'. That's the fancy way to say what my theme is thanks to my teacher for telling me that. Reason for this is, is because I had a really hard time finding a male model and plus I think this idea it really popular in today's society.

My first shot planning

After asking everyone I know, I have finally found a model which being my mum and has experience with modeling seeing her did it when she was my age so i thought that she would do perfect. I was also thinking of using myself or my brother in my work somehow by using shadows or maybe just the back of us, I don't really know how that's going to work yet. I also want to put make-up in my work and have came up with a lot of ideas how to use it such as having a black eye and using red lipstick as blood. All week I have been looking at the NZQA website looking for some ideas on how this could work and I came across someone from 2 years ago that did the same concept as me. She used make-up in her work to and it look awesome.

There will be a lot of lighting involved to to create shadows and I will be starting off in colour then later on go on to black and white. My first panel is going to be revolved around what its like before violence has happened.

Another thing I was thinking about last week was what captions I should use in some of my pictures. Thing like "You are not worth it" and "Why can't this be better" came first into my mind when thinking about violence.

This weekend I'm hoping to experiment taking photos of my mum and will probably edit them later on in the week, I will post them on my blog for you all to see.
